8/28 – Jeff Vorick’s “Thunderstorms Early” Monday Evening Forecast
Thunderstorms will remain around early on this evening for a lot of you. Very heavy rain and isolated pockets of gusty winds and small hail are possible with some activity. Thunderstorms will wind down as we press through the night. Some clearing of the skies can be expected towards daybreak.
Tomorrow again brings the chance for scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Frequent lightning and heavy rainfall will again be the main concerns. Cloud cover and rain chances will increase through the day. The heat will be manageable for much of the week.
Idalia will make landfall in Florida early Wednesday. Thanks to the winds being out of the northeast well to the system’s west, drier air will move into South Mississippi. Humidity will be tolerable and rain chances will be put to bed during the middle of the week.
