8/1 – Jeff Vorick’s “Hot/Clearing” Tuesday Evening Forecast
An Excessive Heat Warning remains in place for Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, and Pearl River County until 7 PM. Skies will clear from partly cloudy to mainly clear skies overnight. A stray shower cannot be ruled out before sunset but the hot conditions are the main issue. Not much relief will come overnight as it will be very warm and humid out the door tomorrow.
Expect a rinse and repeat for tomorrow. Skies will be sunny in the morning then turn partly cloudy for the afternoon with about a 20% chance of a shower or two. Heat alerts will be required again during the hottest times of day. Be sure to take all necessary precautions including hydrating, staying indoors, and taking frequent breaks if outside.
The hot pattern sticks around for the rest of the week. Very gradual changes will occur from Thursday through the weekend. High pressure gradually will break down and the storm track will sag southward. Thunderstorm complexes could become an issue as soon as Friday and this weekend.
