7/3 – Rob’s “Independence Day” Weekend Forecast

An upper-level disturbance along the mid-Atlantic sea board will settle just a bit further south. This will kick and area of high-pressure along the E’tern Gulf of Mexico towards the central Gulf. A cold front will settle along the mid-section of the Gulf Coast states through the weekend and will be a focal point for activity to flare up.

Currently this front looks to stall pretty much right over the I-10 to the coastal Mississippi line. The front along with impulses moving in from the north will keep us in a persistent wet pattern through around Tuesday. While individual storms should not dump too much rain at once, due to the persistence heavy rain, flooding may become an issue in the long run for areas that get repeated rounds of storms.
