7/3 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast
We continue to see a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon with a few sprinkles. This afternoon we could see a few t-storms, but the chance is low. As the mid-level high to the west edges and surface high pressure edges west somewhat drier air will be introduced and a stronger cap keeping precip numbers quite low for Thursday and Friday and possibly even through the weekend. The high should slightly move back to the west by next week allowing for shower/t-storm to make their presence known again.
The other big story is the heat and humidity. The temperatures will be in the mid 90s for Independence Day with heat index values over 100. The heat continues into the weekend with heat index values between 100-110 degrees…this may warrant a HEAT ADVISORY Friday – Sunday.
