6/27 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

Another day of lower humidity and primarily dry conditions across the area. A stationary front continues to linger in the Gulf of Mexico, which could mean a stray shower or two along the coast this afternoon, but must will stay dry. High pressure off to the north will begin to shift more to the east, and as it does so, moisture will return to the area overnight and into Wednesday. With moisture returning, so are the rain chances. The best chance of rain will be Wednesday afternoon into Thursday Afternoon. We are not expecting a lot of rain over the next few days, but a few places could pick up 1-2 inches. As we head into the weekend, rain chances start to decrease and temperatures climb. This weekend will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s. A more typical summer time pattern sets up toward the end of the week, which will give slight rain chances each afternoon. No tropical development is expected over the next five days.
