6/13 – Payton’s “Wet & Muggy” Forecast

Once again, another warm, muggy and wet day as a tropical airmass stays over the area. Showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase through the morning and afternoon hours as we heat up. The strongest storms could have gusty winds, lightning and very heavy downpours. A few peaks of sunshine throughout the day are possible. Rain chances decrease into the night as we lose daytime heating. This pattern continues as southeasterly flow keeps moisture in the area into the weekend. Highs will be running right around normal in the mid to upper 80s and lows above normal in the mid 70s.

The weekend looks wet as well with the best chance for rain on Saturday. Father’s Day looks like it will be warm and wet as well with highs in the upper 80s with a few places even making it into the 90s. Rain chances do decrease slightly as we head into the beginning of next week.
