6/22 – Rob Knight’s “Wet Workweek” Morning Forecast

A very week upper level disturbance coupled with instability and sufficient moisture will bring rainfall into the area through much of the week. In this high instability, weak vertical wind shear environment, expect these showers and thunderstorms to wain around sunset.

The central Gulf coast area will be under the influence of weak upper level disturbance midweek, with several embedded disturbances rotating through this feature over the next several days. This feature will be a focal point for numerous showers and thunderstorms to form mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The trough will weaken towards the end of the week and this will greatly reduce the amount of showers and thunderstorms as a result. The area could easily see anywhere from 1-3″ of accumulation through Friday with pockets of great amounts.
