6/21 – Jeff Vorick’s “Chance of Rain” Wednesday Evening Forecast
Isolated thunderstorm chances can be expected for some this evening. Today brought a lot of sunshine and hotter temperatures than earlier on this week. Heat index values were close to 100 degrees but for the time being, temperatures are manageable. Expect mild temperatures overnight with a slightly drier feel to the air.
A stubborn area of low pressure remains in the region. It has draped a front across South Mississippi. The front will not move significantly over the next couple of days until it begins to lift out this weekend. Rain chances will be around for tomorrow and Friday at around 30-40%.
Efficient rainmakers could come from thunderstorms and there is the isolated chance of a strong thunderstorm or two. But, it will be more like standard summer thunderstorms. In the tropics, Bret is closing in on the Lesser Antilles. Behind it, there are multiple disturbances.
