5/10 – Rob Knight’s “Hump Day” Afternoon Forecast

After areas of  patchy morning fog…the fog has lifted leaving the area under a few/partly cloudy skies. The area of high-pressure overhead has shifted to our east and is now providing for a return-flow from the GOM. Areas of patchy fog will affect the area again overnight into Thursday morning. This afternoon will bring warm and more humid conditions…meaning it will certainly feel warmer. Cloud coverage will begin to increase tomorrow as a cold front moves into the NW’tern portion of the region…then into the viewing Friday. Showers and t-storms will affect the Gulf Coast Friday afternoon into Friday night as the cold front moves through south Mississippi.

The front will clear the area before sunrise Saturday with clearing skies through midday. The Mother’s Day weekend will be sunny and mild with temps in the low/mid 80s.
