3/4 – Jeff Vorick’s “Rain/Thunderstorms Moving In” Monday Evening Forecast
Coverage of rain in the form of showers and thunderstorms picks up this evening and you can expect thunderstorms capable of heavy rain overnight. Some thunderstorms tonight, but especially true for tomorrow’s round of activity, could bring damaging wind gusts and small hail. There will be a lull in the activity after midnight up until around daybreak.
A final round of thunderstorms will come through the area in a general timeframe between mid-morning and the middle of the afternoon. Some thunderstorms will be capable of damaging winds and small hail. More sunshine returns for the middle of the workweek and a warm pattern will stick around through this week.
Attention turns to the end of this week as a vigorous system and cold front will make their way through the area. The Mississippi Coast is already outlined for the threat of severe thunderstorms Friday into Saturday. Finer details will become clearer as we get closer but it is a good idea to be sure you are prepared for severe thunderstorms.
