3/27 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast
Finally all the sunshine has returned! Today will be a little warmer with abundant sunshine. This will continue into Thursday with highs in the lower 70s. High pressure will be firmly in control of the weather through at least Thursday. Friday should be a transition day as winds come around from the southeast and we begin to moisten ahead of the next front that moves through Sunday. The front does not look to be clean but it looks like showers/t-storms will continue for about 12 hours or so after the front moves through but the cloudy skies look to remain.
A surface low-pressure should form over the western gulf and move northeast along the frontal axis into the northeast gulf the first half of the new week. This should also keep our area under cloudy cool and somewhat rainy conditions through much of the day Monday. Dry cool air moves in for Tuesday but does not last long as return flow will quickly develop ahead of yet another cold front. This may cause a rather wet several days starting possibly as early as Wed of next week.
