3/21 – Rob Knight’s Midday News/Afternoon Forecast

Clear skies and mild temps will continue through the region for the rest of the workweek. High pressure will move across Mississippi to the SE by Friday morning with the return flow to begin heading into the weekend.

Moisture will begin to return on southerly winds by Saturday. A cold front will move south and stall close to or just along the northern edge of the region this weekend, before dissipating Monday.

This will be the first chance of getting rainfall over the next several days. This should be in the form of showers with a few t-storms Monday through Thursday. A strong cold front should develop to the west and move through the area next Friday. This would bring the overall best chances for rainfall. But at the moment, it is too far out to suggest the form these thunderstorms will take as far as severity and/or rainfall amounts.
