3/15 – Payton’s Thursday Evening Forecast

Southerly flow returned today as high pressure finally moved overhead and to the east throughout the day. The south winds will increase moisture throughout the overnight hours, which means not as cold tonight. Clouds will also increase going into Friday morning. Friday, shower and thunderstorm chances will go up throughout the morning and early afternoon hours. A few storms could produce gusty winds, but overall the severe weather is expected to stay to the northwest around Jackson and into Arkansas and Louisiana. Shower and thunderstorm chances will stick around for St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, so pack a rain jacket and monitor the skies closely if you have plans outside for the holiday. On Sunday the best chance for rain will be Sunday afternoon and night. The drying trend begins as we start the workweek with most of next week looking nice with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
