In some not so good Saints news, they’ll be without tight end Ben Watson. He’s slated to be inactive for Sunday’s game versus the Rams.
First reported by ESPN, Watson is battling appendicitis and has been ruled out regardless of whether or not he has surgery. If surgery is the outcome, it would be a quick turnaround for him to be ready for the Super Bowl.
Of course, if the Saints come up short, the divisional round game against the Eagles would have been his last ever game. Prior to the season, Watson announced this one to be his last.
In week nine, Watson punished the Rams for 62 yards and a touchdown on three receptions.
Sheldon Rankins is also done for the year with a torn Achilles.
