2/8 – Rob Knight’s “Colder” Friday Morning Forecast

In the wake of a strong cold front, we have a substantial drop in temperatures. Highs and lows will drop about 30 degrees from what they have been over the last couple of days. Most areas will be in the 50s today with 30s overnight and windy conditions. Considerable cloudiness and winds 10-15 mph are expected through the night. Saturday will only be a few degrees warmer as strong high-pressure builds.

Temperatures will begin rebounding Sunday as upper level high-pressure builds in. Expect about a 15 degree jump in highs. At the same time, surface ridge sliding east will allow for Gulf moisture to return as onshore flow develops and strengthens. Early next week looks to be just like this week with a few days of high dew-points and increasing rain chances before a cold front swings through Tuesday. That also means could see an extended period of dense fog impacts along coastal areas.
