2/5 – Payton’s Monday Morning Forecast

A clear night led to a mostly sunny start across South Mississippi, but that will come to an end this afternoon into tonight as clouds move into the area. A warm front will approach from the south this evening, and rain chances will begin to creep up late tonight with just a slight chance for a shower or two. The best rain chances begin Tuesday into Wednesday as a cold front will move into the area Wednesday morning and afternoon. We could see a few rumbles of thunder Wednesday late morning/early afternoon as the cold front pushed through. A nicer and cooler day will accompany the frontal passage on Thursday before rain and clouds return for the weekend. If you have plans outside this weekend plan to pack the rain gear. Luckily it looks like temperatures will remain slightly above average this weekend with all the moisture in place.
