2/25 – Rob Knight’s “Cloudy & Warm” Extended Forecast

A stalled frontal boundary to the NW will bring only a slight chance of showers today and Friday. Temperatures will remain mild with mainly broken to overcast skies as the boundary lingers over the forecast zones through the end of the week.

Another weak impulse from the west will ride east along this boundary Friday elevating rain chances north of Hattiesburg. The front will lift north and impulse will kick out through the mid-south over the weekend leaving the unsettled weather well to our north.High-pressure will build in over the weekend with well above normal temperatures expected on Saturday and Sunday with highs approaching the 80 degree mark.

Another stronger upper level cut off low-pressure system will move through the southern plains early next week. This will bring a good chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms to the area on Monday bringing a cold front through the area on Monday with the front potentially stalling along the immediate Gulf coast. This pattern could bring a multi-day period of unsettled weather if the front does not push through the region.
