2/18 – Payton’s Monday Morning Forecast
A chilly, gloomy day as a cold front sits to the south. Showers will continue over the next several hours before the narrow band along the coast starts to weaken. Tonight will be chilly with lows in the lower 50s. Can’t rule out a stra shower. By Tuesday temperatures will climb and showers will be more widespread as a warm front moves through Mississippi. An the backside of this system a cold front and short wave system will increase rain coverage across the entire region. By Wednesday temperatures will continue to climb into the mid 70s and will bring the best chance for heavy rain. There could be a few thunderstorms on Wednesday. There is a marginal threat for severe weather. The main risks being winds and isolated tornadoes. The chance is low, but there. This trend continues into the weekend before we see a break from the showers on Sunday into Monday.
