2/17 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

Sunday wasn’t too bad! It started a little foggy, but this afternoon there was sunshine and highs nearly 15 degrees above average! A cold front is moving through the area tonight and will bring a few showers and patchy fog along with cooler temperatures. Monday will be cooler with a mix of sun and clouds with a few showers. By Tuesday temperatures will climb and showers will be more widespread as a warm front moves through Mississippi. An the backside of this system a cold front and short wave system will increase rain coverage across the entire region. By Wednesday temperatures will continue to climb into the mid 70s and will bring the best chance for heavy rain. There could be a few thunderstorms on Wednesday, but severe weather appears unlikely. Thursday the clouds continue along with a few showers. This trend continues into the weekend before we see a break from the showers on Sunday into Monday.
