2/11 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

Rain and storms continue this tonight, but the good news is that it looks like showers are beginning to wind down across a large portion of the forecast area. The greatest coverage this evening should be near the coast and over the coastal waters. The front will continue to move through the region before stalling just off the coast. Cooler and slightly drier air will move into the area, but still anticipate a little bit of rain or perhaps drizzle tonight and Monday. Rain chances on Monday should be mostly limited along the coasts and coastal waters. Only carrying a slight chance in those areas for a shower. This optimistic forecast will continue into Tuesday where only a slight chance of showers are possible. Weak ridging will keep flow onshore and warm temps around. A few light showers are possible each day. No more than a 30 percent chance of rain during the afternoons. All in all a pretty dry forecast. The next major chance of rain looks to come next week as guidance points to another front moving into the region next Saturday.
