12/12 Ryan’s “Slightly Cooler” Tuesday Forecast
While it ended up being a few degrees warmer than expected, it was still slightly cooler this afternoon thanks to last night’s cold front, but it’ll be much colder this evening. There haven’t been any Freeze Watches/Warnings issued, but a light frost will likely form during the very early morning hours and the Salvation Army’s cold weather shelters will be open. Temperatures will range from around 34 degrees on the waterfront to the upper 20s inland, but only for a few hours just before and right after sunrise. The afternoon will warm back into the upper 50s and low 60s, and we’ll even be back to the mid 60s by Thursday.
That’s when the second of the three fronts I mentioned yesterday will move through the area, again without bringing a significant increase in cloud cover or rain chances. Temperatures will only fall by about 10-15 degrees, very similar to the difference between yesterday and today, and we’ll begin warming again almost immediately. The afternoon high will have climbed back into the low 70s in many coastal locations by Sunday, but that’s when the third front will move through, bringing the most significant rain chances we’ve seen all week long (40%) as well as more slightly cooler/drier weather.
