12/8 – Jeff’s “Some Stray Rain” Friday Afternoon Forecast

Expect cloud cover to continue this afternoon with an area of disturbed weather nearby. This could also provide for a 20% or so chance of brief light rainfall. Southerly flow will keep things fairly mild and moisture will continue to stream in. Other than some clearing this evening, clouds continue to stream in.

Saturday morning could feature light fog in some spots with more humidity in the picture. Other than that, there will be times with sunshine tomorrow. Rain chances will be around 30% during the day tomorrow. A vigorous cold front will make its way into the area overnight Saturday into Sunday. It will bring thunderstorm chances with a squall line moving into our region.

There is a Level 1 of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms but timing should limit the intensity of activity. Some thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and brief heavy downpours. The cold front will move through the area by daybreak Sunday. Rapid clearing will follow suit and a cold spell will ensue for next week. Gusty winds will be present much of the day Sunday.
