12/2 – Jeff’s “Pattern Change Underway” Friday Afternoon Forecast

The warm-up today has been profound! Temperatures will near 70 degrees with increasing cloud cover throughout the afternoon and evening. Moisture will be increasing across South Mississippi with return flow off of the Gulf. The setup overnight will be primed for a layer of dense fog to set up after midnight.

Mist/drizzle will be in play with the fog and low clouds tomorrow morning. Ahead of our next weather maker, rain chances will be around 40-60% Saturday, especially towards mid-day and the afternoon. A soaker is not expected but an isolated thunderstorm and downpour cannot be ruled out. Shower chances will be in the area early Sunday following the passage of the cold front. There will be a good shot of fog Sunday morning too.

A ridge of high pressure builds back in to start the work week with temperatures well-above seasonal throughout. Low-end rain chances will be around along with the potential for fog in the morning during much of the week.
