12/16 – Jeff Vorick’s “Cold Start” Friday Morning Forecast

Cold air has settled into South Mississippi. Temperatures are going to warm from the 30s and 40s this morning to high temperatures in the low-60s. Clear skies are expected through the day.

The tail end of the cold front that passed through our area earlier this week will help increase clouds tonight. There is also a secondary cold front coming into our area that will help focus the moisture into our region. That being said, there won’t be a ton to work with. Saturday will have mostly cloudy skies and a 40% chance of light-to-steady rain.

Sunday will be cold with clearer skies. A storm system will be forming in the western Gulf of Mexico at the start of next week. It will move to its northeast Monday into Tuesday. Cloud coverage will increase through the day Monday. With plenty of lift and moisture, there will be a 60% chance of rainfall with embedded thunderstorms Monday into Tuesday.
