12/15 – Jeff’s “Sunny Skies” Thursday Midday News Forecast

The cold front that moved through the area is certainly being felt this afternoon. Temperatures are very cool and a northwesterly breeze is blowing across the area. High temperatures will max out near our seasonal norms in the low-to-mid-60s. They will tumble in quick order this evening following sunset.

Friday morning will begin with temperatures feeling like the 30s for many of us across South Mississippi. Clear skies will remain in place until after sunset tomorrow. A system will be forming in the Southwest Gulf of Mexico. It will move to its northeast as the weekend begins.

We will remain north of the warm front. Overrunning moisture will bring an increase in cloud coverage overnight Friday into Saturday. Rain chances will peak Saturday afternoon around 40%. Accumulation will not be significant. Clearing will occur rapidly into Sunday with high pressure taking control. The next workweek will feature a frontal system playing a factor during Monday and Tuesday.
