12/10 Ryan’s “Much Colder” Tuesday Evening Forecast

We haven’t seen much rain in South MS yet, but it’s already much colder than it was last night. Temperatures will continue to fall, down to about 44 degrees on the waterfront, with inland areas even colder.

Showers will become more frequent tonight as well. So far, only a few small areas have seen any measurable rainfall, but chances increase to 60% as the front moves closer.

Thunderstorms and severe weather are not expected, but strong winds are causing issues on the water tomorrow. Almost as soon as the front is through it will begin transitioning into a warm front and inching northward again. This means we’ll only have an evening of light clearing before cloudy, rainy weather returns. The new warm front will drag a low pressure center just south of us, so expect another round of showers and potential thunderstorms Friday. That means after a full week of cloudy, dreary days we’ll finally enjoy a sunny and warm weekend.
