11/7 – Rob’s “Continued WET” Morning Forecast

The wet pattern continues across the region as an upper-level disturbance moved through the mid-Mississippi Valley yesterday, bringing a cold front in. This boundary has stalled and is currently draped right along the midsection of the region. This boundary will be the focus of shower development this morning.

The next disturbance is already moving through the middle of the country and will bring another front to the area late this afternoon. This will enhance rain chances enough so to merit 70-90% POPS. Model are indicating a short window of opportunity for late morning/early afternoon marginally severe storms. I’m thinking wind gusts will be the greatest threat if anything severe does develop.

A strong cold front will move through the forecast area Friday with numerous showers and scattered storms and much colder temps over the weekend. Highs will struggle to get out of the mid 50s and lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
