11/30 – Rob Knight’s “Sunny & Windy” Midday Forecast

Gusty winds today will have winds in the 20-30 mph range. With that, a wind advisory continues through this evening as winds will relax near sunset.

Forecast lows tonight still show upper 20s to lower 30s for a good chunk of the area. We have upgraded the Freeze watch to a warning now for all of the same locations that were in the watch.

Another strong disturbance will dig south over the continental divide Tuesday, this will induce low pressure over the southern Plains and that combined with our cold departing sfc high will cause return flow to set back up and moisture to return. A consensus of the models brings the next chance of showers into the forecast area Wednesday afternoon. There could be enough instability for a few thunderstorms along the southeast Louisiana coast and mainly offshore in the coastal waters to the south on Wednesday night, then there will be a lingering chance of showers Thursday and possibly into Friday. Temperatures will warm a bit on Thursday before cooling back to below normal levels Friday into the weekend.
