10/10 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

A very weak cold front is approaching the area from the west…currently located in Eastern Tx. A very saturated atmosphere brought areas of DENSE FOG this morning and will continue tomorrow morning as the cold front approaches the viewing area. Areas of HEAVY RAINFALL should stay west of the viewing area as the front approaches, but isolated showers/t-storms are in the mix once again today.

This scenario is very odd for October…especially with the very warm temperatures. Forcing along the front shifts toward the northeast later today and moves up the Miss River Valley leaving the southern end of the front to slowly make its way eastward. The front becomes so sluggish that it may take 24hrs to move through much of the area starting this evening. The front will stall along the coast before beginning to move back toward the north by the end of this week. So, most of the area should enjoy some dry air at different times later this week…some more than others.
