10/6 – Brittany’s “Changes Ahead” Thursday Night Forecast

Friday temperatures will be above average thanks to some brief southerly winds ahead of a dry boundary this weekend. General model consensus shows high temperatures approaching 90 degrees. Conditions will be dry through the weekend as northerly surface winds Saturday and Sunday will help to enhance cool and dry air advection into the region, enhancing stability.

Zonal flow will continue to dominate the upper level pattern for the region. Northerly winds will continue to help enhance dry air and cool air advection into the area, enhancing stability. As aresult, looking at the model consensus and based on the parameters, conditions will be pretty dry for the beginning of next week. Toward the end of the forecast period, southerly to easterly flow returns ahead of an approaching system, increasing moisture in the area. Some showers will be possible mid-week, but it is too soon to know any details.
