10/15 — Brantly’s “Rainy Night” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

Warm, damp air is in place over South Mississippi this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s, slightly warmer than yesterday. This additional heat and moisture will help to destabilize the atmosphere and produce some showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with a rain chance around 50 percent.

Tonight, the rain chance goes up to around 80 percent as showers and thunderstorms become widespread across the viewing area. Some storms could produce periods of heavy rainfall. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.

Rain may linger into Wednesday as a cold front finally passes, but it will likely be confined to the first half of the day. The rain chance will be around 60 percent with high temperatures in the upper 70s.

Skies will begin to partially clear late Wednesday as a cooler and drier air mass moves in. High temperatures will drop into the mid 70s with overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s through Friday.
