1/9 – Rob’s “Warm & Humid” Afternoon Forecast
As above seasonal temperatures move back in, a few showers will be possible this afternoon and Friday ahead the system on Saturday.
The Storm Prediction Center still maintains an ENHANCED THREAT for severe weather for the area.
Everyone in the forecast area should prepare for a severe weather episode across the region starting late Friday night after midnight through the afternoon on Saturday. All modes of severe weather will be possible on Saturday but the main threat should be straight line winds, heavy downpours and tornadoes…especially in any storms that can develop ahead of the main line of storms.
Right now I’m thinking that a squall line will push out in advance of the main system early Saturday morning. The main system should then move through Midday into early afternoon. The front will stall over the eastern gulf Sunday and quickly race back to the north as a warm front and stall over or near our area Monday.
