1/23 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Heavy showers and a few thunderstorms continue to move into South Mississippi. Through aroudnd 4 PM there is a slight risk for a severe thunderstorm. The main risks are high winds, isolated tornadoes and flash flooding. Flash flooding is already occurring in Stone and George Counties where locations have already picked up 5 inches of rain. By this evening the cold front will move through, but showers will stick around through 10 PM. By midnight we start to dry, but temperatures drop into the lower to mid 30s with windchills in the upper 20s. Thursday will be sunny and chilly and that continues into the weekend.
