1/20 – Rob Knight’s “VERY COLD” Morning Forecast

Freezing temps are expected for several locations north of the interstate this morning…but this will be short lived. Tonight may be different as below freezing temps should be found over the majority of the area. The below freezing temps will last the longest over the northern half of the area and could be from 6 to 8 hours. South of the interstate locations should get to or just below freezing should only be 2 to 3 hours Tuesday morning. Another round of freezing temps will be found again Wednesday morning but will be short lived only a few hours.

The next system that should affect the area starting Thursday through Thursday night and clear the area by early Friday. The issue here is where the surface low transits the area. At the moment, there are differences in models either bringing the low just inland and moves it east or keeps the low along the immediate coast. If the low moves along the immediate coast, expect isolated thunderstorms just inland with moderate rainfall while keeping all strong/severe weather over the coastal waters. We will keep tracking this system and will have a better handle on it by Tuesday night.
