1/13 – Jeff’s “Breezy, Sunny, and Cold” Friday Afternoon Forecast

Clearing ensued through the morning as drier and colder air filters into South Mississippi. We will manage low-to-mid 50s across the area as winds will continue to be elevated. Winds will be gusting 25 to 30 MPH this afternoon. While the elevated nature of the winds will back off a bit tonight, they won’t completely relax until late Saturday.

Temperatures will tumble this evening. It will be at or below the freezing mark for a lot of us Saturday morning. Winds around 10 MPH will provide for a wind chill in the low 20s. Winds will relax through the day and we will have plenty of sunshine Saturday. Clear skies and light winds will allow for another cold night with 30s expected Sunday morning.

Moderation in the pattern will begin Sunday as high pressure scoots to our east. Southerly flow combined with a warm front will bring an increase in warmth and moisture to our area. Monday will be mild with more clouds than sun. There will be a 30-40% chance of rain Tuesday with that system. Another frontal system will make its way towards our area during the middle of next week.
