1/13 – Jeff Vorick’s “Colder” Friday Morning Forecast

A potent cold front passed through our area yesterday which led to a cold and windy start. Winds will stay elevated today as high pressure is still well away from our area. Winds will be 15-25 MPH with higher gusts this afternoon. Clouds will continue to thin throughout the day.

Tonight will be very cold across our area. Temperatures will plummet this evening and it will be below freezing for many tomorrow morning. A light breeze will have everyone feeling like the 20s. Winds will relax into Saturday as high pressure begins to make its closest approach. This will also aid in very clear skies.

Light winds will allow for efficient cooling again Saturday night. The pattern will begin to moderate Sunday as the area of high pressure begins to shift east. Return flow from it, combined with a warm front passing through early Monday will allow for a quick rebound in temperatures. The first portion of next week will become more active with a train of frontal systems making their way into the eastern United States.
