09/15 Ryan’s “Flood Watch” Wednesday Night Forecast
The rain is starting to lessen, but flash flood watches will remain in effect through at least Friday afternoon.
Flood watches remain in effect across South MS as more and more rain moves through. Several inches have already fallen since early this morning, mostly in East Harrison and Jackson Counties, causing flooded roads and rising rivers. Expect these trends to continue as Nicholas has slowed to a crawl and will continue to force moisture into the area.
It won’t be quite as consistent as it was this morning and today, but rain chances of 50% or higher continue through the end of the week.
This and the inland rain Mississippi is seeing will keep river flooding an issue for the rest of the week as well. The Biloxi, Wolf, and Tchoutacabouffa Rivers are all expected to crest at moderate flood stages by tomorrow night. Continue to exercise caution in these areas and watch for flooded roads while driving. Remember to slow down and giver yourself plenty of time to stop as roads will be slick.
