08/30 Ryan’s “Dry Tuesday Evening” Forecast
It ended up being a dry Tuesday day today and I expect it to remain that way through the rest of the night. Rain chances will be in the 10% range over the next few days so they’ll be much drier, sunnier, and with very light cloud cover so some afternoon highs in the mid 90s will be expected. As we head into the weekend we’ll see a slight reduction in temperatures due to the increase in cloud cover, and an approaching cold front will raise rain chances into the 30% range, so afternoon showers likely, but not too widespread. This means that your labor day weekend will be very sunny and hot overall, but with a shower or two in the afternoon.
Not much happened in the tropics today, so we’re still waiting on Tropical Depression 8 & 9 to become tropical storms. TD 9 is still expected to move East of South MS and make landfall near Tallahassee on Thursday, but slight shifts in the path are possible so we’ll keep watching its development throughout. TD 8 should continue out into the Atlantic, but did brush by North Carolina. Hurricane Gaston became a major hurricane for the second time, but still not expected to make a significant landfall.
