07/09 Ryan “T-Storms” Tuesday Evening Forecast

A few strong t-storms moved in this evening, signifying the start of a much more active weather period. Much of this activity will be due to a developing tropical system in the Northern Gulf. This low will continue moving over the water through tomorrow, at which point it will likely become a Tropical Depression. There isn’t much keeping this system from strengthening further, so the longer it remains over the water the stronger it will get.

Given enough time I could see a hurricane developing in the Northern Gulf as it continues to push westward.

I still expect it to be too far south to cause the Gulf Coast any dangerous”tropical” issues, but several inches of rain are likely as we remain right on the storm’s eastern fringe. This should serve as a great reminder to prepare/finalize those hurricane plans!
