07/08 Ryan’s “Record Heat” Monday Forecast

I’m still waiting on some official NWS readings, but I’m certain a few South MS areas have broken their record highs today. Gulfport maxed out at 99 degrees, one shy of its record, but Pascagoula may have passed theirs of 102 today.

If you’re concerned about the heat you should be, but some relief is on the way.

Unfortunately that relief will come in the form of more organized rain and even a possible tropical system. This possible system is currently inland, but it will move into the Northeastern Gulf by Wednesday. Once there it has a decent chance to develop, but either way should stay on the weaker side…either a depression or low-end Tropical Storm. There’s still a lot in the air in regards to this forecast, but it certainly looks like we’ll see a rainy end to the week as this low tracks just South of us before turning inland.
