07/02 Ryan’s “Wet Weekend” Thursday Evening Forecast

Overall the weather this week was fairly dry, but now we’re unfortunately in for a wet holiday weekend. I’m expecting tonight’s low to fall a few degrees due to late rain, but otherwise it’s still just warm and humid. Expect a low near 77 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers.

Rain chances pick up sharply heading into tomorrow afternoon though.

Despite that, it’s also still going to be on the hot side! Tomorrows high will top out near 89 degrees, with overcast skies and a 70% chance of showers. This high chance is due to ample moisture, a stalling surface front, and lingering upper level features. All of these combine to keep rain in South MS at or near these levels through Monday.

Individual storms shouldn’t have too much rainfall, but upwards of 3 inches are possible over that time.

These showers will keep us in the upper 80s for a few days, but as things dry out the temperature will starting inching upwards again. Expect more hot and miserably humid weather with afternoon showers and highs in the low 90s by mid-week.
