06/22 Ryan’s “Cindy Winds Down” Thursday Forecast

As Cindy weakens over the next 24 hours or so, we will continue to see some tropical moisture and scattered showers & thunderstorms. Cindy will continue its trek Northeast, and will eventually get swept up in the prevailing westerlies and absorbed by an approaching long-wave trough. This will add enough energy to the trough that it should be able to push a front into South MS, but it’s expected to stall over the area and dissipate as the weekend draws to a close. This means while Cindy will be done with us by tomorrow afternoon, we can still see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area well into Sunday.

Around Monday, I’m expecting some dry air to begin filtering in, and we should get some glimpses of the Sun from Monday-Thursday before the skies begin to thicken again.
