06/07 Ryan’s “Stormy” Friday Night Forecast

Even though we saw a few hours of sunshine today, the afternoon and evening have been pretty stormy. Severe warned thunderstorms moved through Harrison and Jackson Counties between 3:30 and 5 PM, but I don’t believe any severe weather was observed. However, we did see some areas of high rainfall.

WHILE MOST OF SOUTH MS ONLY RECEIVED TRACE AMOUNTS, TWO AREAS ASSOCIATED WITH THOSE SEVERE STORMS DID RECEIVE OVER AN INCH AND A HALF OR RAIN IN A VERY SHORT TIME.

This could lead to some hyper localized flooding issues, but no watches or warnings have been issued for that. I expect accumulations won’t be too big of an issue because the storms are just too scattered about. Expect the rainy weather to continue through Saturday and into Sunday, but we’ll see rapidly improving conditions after that. Next week will begin drier and cooler than last week, and we’ll still see plenty of sun!
