06/01 – Brantly’s “Increasing Rain Chances” Monday Evening Forecast
Heading into Tuesday, high temperatures will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees as moisture begins flowing into the region out of the southeast. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible, mainly in the afternoon. Rain chances are at around 40 percent.
Rain chances increase to 50 to 60 percent on Wednesday as we enter an unsettled weather patterns mid-week. High temperatures will be slightly cooler in the mid 80s.
In the tropics, we are watching the remnants of Tropical Depression Three. The circulation is currently situated over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and it is forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm on Tuesday. It will meander over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico for several days and there is a great deal of uncertainty with the forecast beyond that.
Many models bring the system into the northern Gulf by early next week, while some show the system dissipating or moving south toward Mexico. Regardless, it is not an immediate threat to the U.S. but it is something that we will need to monitor closely.
We will continue to track this throughout the week on-air and online.
