04/09 – Rob Knight’s “Humid” Thursday Morning Forecast

A weak cold front moving south will push through the area this afternoon. Scattered rain will move in post-frontal overnight into Friday morning.

At this time, it seems like the front will begin a slow push back to the north as a warm front. The front will drift north Saturday afternoon and evening.

Saturday night into Sunday morning, all eyes focus on the disturbance moving across central and eastern Texas. As the warm front is then well north of the area and we situate ourselves right smack in the middle of the warm sector of the strengthening system.

A few models continue to paint a downright significant outbreak across our area, with the strong surface/low-level low nearby. While there is only about a 6-8 hour timing difference between models, supercells could race across the area during peak afternoon heating. Just know for right now the potential for a significant severe weather episode – with all forms of severe weather looks very possible Sunday. Stay tuned for more updates.
