01/17 Ryan’s “Dense Fog” Tuesday Evening Forecast

Southerly winds continue to “pile” moisture in the South, and dense fog has already developed this evening. Expect tomorrow (Wednesday) to have similar conditions, but will remain cooler due to increased cloud cover. While a few isolated showers are not out of the question for Wednesday, more evening fog, and the potential for severe weather on Thursday are the more pressing weather features. Thursday brings a marginal risk (~5%) of severe weather, and up to 2″ of rain could fall over just a few hours. That front will give us one day of cooler/drier weather, but another frontal system moves in on Saturday and that one has a significantly higher chance of severe weather (~15%). This weekend’s system will also be slow moving, so dangerous conditions will linger into Sunday.
