01/05 Ryan’s “Winter Weather?” Thursday Night Forecast

The last week has been full of good and bad information regarding tomorrow’s upcoming frontal system and its chance of winter weather. Here’s what you can expect in the next 48 hours. Showers will begin within the next few hours across South MS, and will continue into tomorrow (Friday). Around sunrise, areas immediately North of the six coastal counties will begin seeing a wintry mix (i.e. sleet, freezing rain, and snow). At this time, it is doubtful that any winter weather will be seen South of I-10, but the 3 Northern counties and parts of Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson have the small chance of seeing at least sleet or freezing rain. Regardless, only trace accumulations are expected and the immediate danger will be icy overpasses, trees, and power lines. I’ll have more information during hour hour long 9 PM show on FOX and on NBC at 10.
