Women of Wisdom luncheon

The Women of Wisdom or WOW group celebrated Thanksgiving early today.

WOW is a faith-based group set to empower women in the community. At this luncheon, they collected items for a group from Gulfport who is helping build a tent city for eight families in Guatemala.

WOW’s purpose is to create an atmosphere of love and connectivity. They help with many community projects and hope any Gulf Coast women looking for lasting friendships will join them. WOW co-founder Eileen Whittemore said, “I think it would benefit any woman to come and join because it’s a very loving and supportive group and you almost feel better once you leave here.”

WOW Leadership Council member Gina Sawyer said, “We are just here to lift each other up and encourage each other in Jesus and that God loves every one of us and that Jesus died for our sins.”

The Women of Wisdom hold this luncheon at least once a month.
