Shaffer received a ten-day suspended jail sentence and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and perform 150 hours of community service at an animal shelter.

Circuit Judge Calvin Taylor also sentenced Shaffer to six months’ probation in which she must report to a probation officer.
