Woman killed in fatal boating accident in Hancock County

A Poplarville woman is dead following a Sunday boating accident.

Hancock County Coroner Jeff Hair confirmed that 23-year-old Savannah Davis died from blunt force trauma suffered in that crash on the Jourdan River north of I-10. Two boats were involved.

No word yet on how many people were on each vessel or if there were any other injuries.

Davis is a native of the Kiln and was a 2018 graduate of Hancock High School. Her high school friend said Davis was the life of the party and she was a little spitfire and she passed away doing what she loves most, surrounded by the ones she loves, and being on the water.

Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is investigating the cause of the crash.
